Tutor

Responsibilities:

Instruction and Learning Support:

• Deliver high quality one to one tutoring sessions for primary and secondary learners. 
• Diagnose learner strengths and gaps and adjust instruction in real time.
• Use MsSuzie. curricula, tools, and lesson frameworks to ensure consistency and quality. 
• Assign and review practice work as needed, giving clear and actionable feedback. 

Communication and Learner Experience: 

• Build warm and respectful relationships with learners and, when appropriate, their families.
• Communicate expectations, progress, and next steps in clear and simple English.
• Adjust language, tone, and examples so they feel natural and familiar for learners in the United States. 
• Model patience, empathy, and professionalism in every interaction. 

Data, Systems, and Documentation:

• Use MsSuzie. platforms to track attendance, session notes, learner progress, and assessments. 
• Complete required documentation such as reports, ratings, and flags promptly after sessions. 
• Follow all scheduling, check-in and check-out, and escalation protocols. 

Safeguarding, Professionalism, and Compliance:

• Adhere to MsSuzie. safeguarding policies and immediately report any concerns.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
• Be punctual and reliable for all assigned sessions and trainings.
• Follow all MsSuzie. policies on conduct, technology use, and data privacy. 

Training, Quality, and Growth:

• Take part in training and coaching sessions that support your work with learners.
• Respond openly to feedback and use it to improve your practice.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and excellence across the tutor team 

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, Education or relevant subject area preferred.
• Demonstrated experience teaching or tutoring children or adolescents.
• Strong command of spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly with learners in the United States. 
• Comfortable using technology for live online instruction, including video calls, digital whiteboard, and learning platforms. 
• Availability to work consistent evening and night shifts, for example, between 9:00 pm and 1:00 am West Africa Time, on agreed days. 
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and reliability. 

Preferred:

• Teacher registration with TRCN or an equivalent teaching certification.
• Experience working with international learners or learners in the United States.
• Prior one-to-one tutoring experience, online or in person. 
• Basic home-office set-up (standard work desk & chair)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria 

Remuneration: NGN 250,000 Monthly (12-15 hours per week only) 

Work Type: Hybrid (Remote teaching sessions, compulsory in-person sessions/trainings at Yaba, Lagos.) 

Work Schedule: Evening and night shifts, for example, 9:00 pm to 1:00 am West Africa Time, aligned to United States time zones
