Resident Pastor
Job summary
We are seeking a spiritually mature and dynamic resident pastor to provide spiritual, pastoral, and leadership oversight for the church. The successful candidate will help revitalise and grow the church into a healthy, vibrant, and outward-focused congregation, while building on its existing foundation. The role involves preaching and teaching, pastoral care, discipleship, evangelism, leadership development, community outreach, and effective coordination of church activities.

Responsibilities:
- Provide spiritual and pastoral leadership to the congregation.
- Preach and teach the Word of God and lead prayer, worship, and discipleship activities.
- Provide counselling, visitation, guidance, and pastoral support to members and families.
- Develop and implement practical strategies to support church revitalisation, member engagement, and sustainable growth.
- Lead evangelism, missions, community outreach, and member follow-up initiatives.
- Strengthen Bible studies, small groups, discipleship programmes, and leadership-development activities.
- Work closely with church leaders, ministry heads, workers, and volunteers to coordinate church programmes and activities.
- Mentor emerging leaders and empower ministry workers to take responsibility within their areas.
- Support ministries serving children, young people, couples, and families.
- Maintain effective communication, ministry records, and follow-up systems.
- Promote unity, accountability, responsible stewardship, and a welcoming church environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in pastoral ministry, church leadership, or a related ministry role.
- Strong commitment to the Christian faith, biblical principles, and sound Christian doctrine.
- Demonstrated ability to preach, teach, disciple, counsel, and provide pastoral care.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Understanding of evangelism, discipleship, community outreach, and church growth.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Good organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with existing church leadership and ministry teams.
- High level of integrity, humility, accountability, and servant leadership.
- Basic proficiency with digital tools for communication, planning, and record-keeping.

- The ideal candidate should be passionate about the Word of God and people, proactive in ministry, approachable, compassionate, and capable of working with existing church leadership while bringing fresh ideas to support growth and engagement.
