Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and respond to their questions and concerns.
- Operate cash registers, scanners, and other point-of-sale equipment.
- Process cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately.
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure accuracy.
- Issue receipts, refunds, and change to customers as needed.
- Handle returns and exchanges in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain a clean and orderly checkout area.
- Bag, box, or wrap merchandise as needed.
- Follow all store procedures regarding coupons, gift cards, or special promotions.
- Monitor and report suspicious activity or theft to management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous cashier or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
