Job Summary

The Business Development Officer role is responsible for developing and executing brand-enhancing sales strategies for growing Sahlworks' revenue & profits, consistently and increasingly.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Perform marketing research to identify new businesses
  • Engage with executives to establish strategies for pursuing those new opportunities.
  • Create and improve proposals for both new and existing clients.
  • Negotiate timelines and budgets.
  • Increase overall sales efficiency and profitability through excellent salesmanship.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, clients, and business partner


Requirements:

  • The Candidate should have an HND (Higher National Diploma) or bachelor's Degree in any relevant field.
  • Previous industry experience could be an added advantage.
  • The Ability to gather intelligence on current customer needs and preferences;
  • The Ability to gather data on present industry trends and competitors' high selling points;
  • The Capacity to develop responsive sales strategies & plans in view of industry, competition, and customer trends; 
  • The capacity to execute and follow through on developed sales plans in a strategic & responsive manner;
  • The ability to measure sales and success of sales strategies consistently & methodically.
  • The capacity to anticipate short-, mid-, and long-term customer needs;
  • The capacity to anticipate industry trends and competitors' high selling points;
  • The ability to translate anticipated industry, competition, and customer trends into business development strategies; 
  • The ability to implement developed business strategies methodically, and follow through on developed sales plans in a strategic & responsive manner;
  • The capacity to articulate & document sales processes/procedures.
  • Uncompromisable integrity;
  • Self-led diligence;
  • Passion for sales & business development;
  • Excellent inter-personal relational skills; and
  • Confidence that is appropriately balanced with humility.
  • The desire for continuous self-development;
  • Comfort with leaving his/her comfort zone when required;
  • Willingness to take intelligent risks when necessary; 
  • Openness to learning about other fields, especially as they relate to Business Development; and 
  • Ability to grow & develop others.
