Job Summary

We are seeking to hire a creative and hands-on UI/UX Design Instructor (Kids) to lead practical and engaging UI/UX Design sessions for children and teens aged 7 to 18 during our on-site summer tech program. We offer physical and live online tech courses for children. In this role, you will introduce students to the world of UI/UX Design. Open to students seeking internships.

  • Minimum Qualification : High School (S.S.C.E)
  • Experience Level : Entry level
  • Experience Length : 1 year

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a classroom of 5-20 students.
  • Develop and deliver hands-on, beginner-friendly UI/UX lessons tailored to age groups (7–12, 13–18).
  • Introduce core design concepts such as wireframing, user journeys, visual hierarchy, and prototyping.
  • Teach basic use of tools like Figma, Canva, or other visual design tools appropriate for kids.
  • Guide students through mini-projects that allow them to create and present their own app or website mockups.
  • Encourage collaboration, creativity, and design thinking in the classroom.
  • Track student engagement and progress, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Prepare teaching materials ahead of sessions and collaborate with the program team.

Requirements:

  • Student or Graduate of Computer Science, Communications, Design or related fields (preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in UI/UX design.
  • Strong knowledge of UI/UX principles and design tools (especially Figma or Canva).
  • Experience teaching or working with children or teens in a classroom or workshop setting.
  • Ability to simplify abstract concepts into engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Must be available for the entire duration of the program (July–August).
  • Must reside in Port Harcourt.


Bonus: Experience in STEM education, edtech, or running coding clubs for kids.
