Job Summary

The Behavioural Therapist will deliver high-quality, evidence-based behavioural interventions to support pupils with behavioural, emotional, or developmental challenges.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Behaviour Assessments & Planning
Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA) to identify triggers, patterns, and underlying needs.
Develop individualised Behaviour Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to each pupil’s strengths, needs, and learning style.
Conduct ongoing reviews and modify plans in response to progress.
Direct Therapeutic Work
Deliver 1:1 or small group behavioural therapy sessions focused on emotional regulation, social skills, communication, and coping strategies.
Support pupils with transitions, anxiety management, sensory regulation, and conflict resolution.
Maintain open and supportive communication with parents to ensure consistency between home & class

Requirements:

Qualification in Behavioural Therapy, Psychology, Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Special Education, or related field.
Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs or SEN in a school or clinical setting.
Strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), trauma-informed practice, and therapeutic de-escalation.
Proven ability to develop Behaviour Intervention Plans and deliver direct behavioural support.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Resilience, patience, and the ability to remain calm
