Job Summary

Our Early Years team are the bedrock of our work. Early Years is where the magic happens, where young children first learn to fall in love with making music. This role is for a fun-loving, musical, early years practitioner who is passionate about impacting young lives for good. Must have a good singing voice and plenty of stamina!

  • Minimum Qualification : Diploma

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Music Lessons: Develop engaging, age-appropriate music activities that introduce preschoolers to rhythm, melody, and basic musical concepts.
  • Incorporate Movement and Play: Use songs, dance, and interactive games to enhance motor skills, coordination, and self-expression.
  • Create a Nurturing Learning Environment: Foster a safe and inclusive space where young children feel encouraged to explore and express themselves through music.
  • Integrate Music into Daily Routines: Use music to support transitions, reinforce learning themes, and enhance classroom routines like clean-up time and storytime.
  • Encourage Social and Emotional Development: Teach songs and group activities that promote teamwork, patience, and confidence.
  • Engage with Parents and Caregivers: Provide updates on children's musical progress and share resources for continued learning at home.
  • Prepare for Performances and Events: Organize simple music performances or sing-alongs to build children's confidence and showcase their learning.
  • Manage Musical Instruments and Materials: Ensure that all classroom instruments are age-appropriate, well-maintained, and safely stored.


Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will be hardworking, honest, and enthusiastic with excellent oral and written communication skills. Flexible, resilient, and willing to “go with the flow.”
  • Energetic, creative, good-natured, and with a great sense of humor.
  • A fun-loving individual who knows how to engage with children. 
  • Have previous experience working with young children would be ideal.
  • Love being with, and have patience for young children, is not afraid to connect with their inner child, is naturally warm, playful, and friendly with a winning smile!
  • Have a good singing voice 
  • Be able to play the piano to elementary standard or is willing to learn to do so
  • Be able to play the guitar or ukulele or is willing to learn to do so
  • Be able to sit on the floor for long periods of time 
  • Be energetic and physically agile
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • IT literate and able to use software such as word processors.
  • Be a quick learner 
  • Be able to start immediately


Work Schedule: Be able to work five (5) days a week - including Saturdays.

Remuneration: NGN 75,000 - 100,000
