1. BACKGROUND
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crisesand helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933 at the request of AlbertEinstein,theIRCofferslifesavingcareandlife-changingassistancetorefugeesforcedtofleefrom war or disaster. At work today in over 40 countries and 22 cities, we restore safety,dignity and hope to millions who are uprooted and struggling to endure. The IRC deliverseducation programs in 22 conflict-affected or post-conflict countries around the world. TheIRC’s educational interventions strive to help children and youth gain valuable skills andknowledge that will increase their opportunities and life chances and contribute to their well-being and livelihood. The IRC supports formal and non-formal learning activities that lead totangible learning outcomes and promotes the protection and psychosocial well-being ofconflict-affectedchildrenand youth.
WithfundingsupportfromSIDAandTheArnoldFoundation,theIRCisstrengtheningEdTechInnovation by continuing to leverage on USAID funded OTL opportunity to advance EdTechbasedsolutionsthatcandelivermeaningfulimpactsforcrisis-affectedpeople,especiallythosewhomwefindithardtoreachwiththeconventionalmeansofeducationservicedelivery.Thisinitiativeisconductingmulti-prongedresearchprojectsthatwillresultinthepilotingandtestingof EdTechsolutionsanddeliveryofasprinttoolkitforIRCcountryprograms.
The International Rescue Committee (IRC), in its unwavering commitment to enhancingeducationalaccessibilityandquality,hasenteredasignificantpartnershipwithMavisComputel, the pioneering force behind the Mavis Talking Books. This avant-garde toolset,encapsulating the Mavis Pen and the Mavis Book, furnishes learners with a rich educationalexperience,grantingthemaccesstointeractivelessonsinliteracyandnumeracyintheirnativelanguage.
SpanningDecember2022toSeptember2023,theproject'ssecondphaseunfoldednumeroustransformativeoutcomes.Tangibleadvancementsinlearnerperformance,amplifiedexpertiseamong Learning Facilitators, and an evident uptick in educational zeal were witnessed. Thisvibrant tapestry of achievements, underpinned by the tool's user-centric design and theextensiveempowermentofLearningFacilitators,meritsadetailedmultimediadocumentation.
PURPOSEOFENGAGEMENT
The primary thrust of this engagement is to craft a comprehensive multimedia documentarypackage, synergizing print, high-definition photographs, and a professionally curated videodocumentary,thatvividlycapturestheMAVISTalkingBooks'journeyintandemwiththeIRC.

Narrative Development : To cohesively narrate the project's chronology, highlightingthemethodologiesadopted,hurdlessurmounted,andtriumphscelebrated.
Impact Visualization : Through print, photographs, and video, artistically showcasethe tangible and emotive influences on the learners, Learning Facilitators, learningcenters,andthe encompassing community.
TestimonialSynthesis :Collectandweavepoignanttestimonialsfromlearners,LearningFacilitators,andvariousstakeholders,drawingviewersandreadersintotheirtransformativeexperiences.
Premium Production Quality :Ensurethatthemultimediaelements–writtencontent,photographs, and video documentary – adhere to superior production standards. Thisincludescrispimagery,lucidaudio,professionalediting,andwell-craftedtextualnarratives, making them apt for diverse platforms from print publications to digitalbroadcasts.
CollaborativeApproach :Engage closely with IRC and Mavis Computel teams,ensuringthedocumentarypackageresonateswithourvisionandobjectives.

QualificationsandExperience:
A recognized degree or equivalent qualification in Multimedia Production, Journalism,Film Production,orarelatedfield.Provenexperience(minimumof3-5years)inproducinghigh-qualitydocumentariesormultimediaprojects,preferably intheeducationorsocialsector. Aportfolioandlinktosimilarpreviousworkdoneshowcasingpreviousworks,includingvideodocumentaries,brochures,andotherrelevantmultimediaproductions. The consultant should provide a detailed financial proposal, work plan, evidence of work done, and a link to pass work done. In the financial proposal, the consultant should account for their trip and lodging.
TechnicalProficiency:
Expertiseinusingstate-of-the-artfilmingequipmentandeditingsoftware. Skillsingraphicdesignandlayout,especiallyforprintmaterialslikebrochures. Knowledgeofdigitaldistributionandpromotionplatforms. InterviewingSkills:Demonstrableexperienceinconductinginterviews,preferablywithdiversestakeholdergroups.
