Software QA Engineer
Job summary
We are seeking a Software QA Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the quality and reliability of our SaaS platform. You will work closely with developers to validate new features, identify edge cases, and ensure the integrity of our data.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases for all new features.
- Perform end-to-end manual testing to ensure features meet business requirements and design specifications.
- Proactively identify and test "unhappy path" scenarios, boundary conditions, and unusual user workflows to ensure system resilience.
- Validate backend data states using MongoDB.
- Write and execute queries to ensure data is correctly stored, updated, and retrieved across the platform.
- Maintain and execute regression test suites to ensure that new code deployments do not negatively impact existing functionality.
- Verify the communication between frontend and backend services using tools like Postman to test API endpoints.
- Conduct basic performance testing to ensure the application remains stable and responsive under varying traffic levels.
- Document and prioritize defects with clear "steps to reproduce," environment details, and logs. Collaborate with the development team to verify fixes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies
- 2–4 years of experience in software quality assurance for web-based SaaS applications.
- Experience writing queries in MongoDB Query Language
- Ability to navigate document-based (NoSQL) data structures.
- Familiarity with MongoDB Compass or the Mongo Shell.
- Proficiency using Browser Developer Tools (Console, Network tab) to diagnose frontend errors.
- Knowledge of or interest in JavaScript-based automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright).
- Experience with Postman (API testing) and Jira/GitHub (issue tracking).
- Familiarity with load testing tools such as JMeter or k6 is a plus
