Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Plan, Execute, and Finalise Projects: 

  • Ensure projects are completed within established deadlines and budgets. 
  • Oversee all phases of project life cycles from initiation to closure. 


Define Project Scope, Goals, and Deliverables: 

  • Work with stakeholders to define project scope and objectives. 
  • Ensure alignment of project goals with organisational strategy. 


Develop Detailed Project Plans and Schedules: 

  • Create comprehensive project plans that outline tasks, timelines, and resource allocation. 
  • Establish clear project milestones and deadlines. 


Coordinate Internal Resources and Third Parties/Vendors: 

  • Manage collaboration between internal teams and external vendors. 
  • Ensure all parties are aligned and working towards common project goals. 


Manage Project Risks and Issues: 

  • Identify potential risks and issues early.
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address risks and resolve issues. 


Ensure Quality Assurance and Compliance with Project Standards: 

  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure deliverables meet established standards. 
  • Ensure projects comply with company policies and industry regulations. 


Communicate Project Status to Stakeholders: 

  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, risks, and issues. 
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication among all project participants. 
  • Make good use of project data for presentation to stakeholders to ensure clarity of communication


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • PMP certification or equivalent preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management. 
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities. 
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills. 
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools. 
  • Strong data analysis and presentation skills 
  • Excellent team playing skills 
  • Ability to manage time to meet timelines 


Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Project Manager:

  • Project Initiation 
  • Objective: Establish a solid foundation for the project. 


Planning:

  • Kick-Off Meetings: Conduct meetings to align all stakeholders on project objectives and scope. 
  • Project Charter: Develop and document the project charter outlining scope, objectives, stakeholders, and authority. 
  • Objective: Develop a detailed roadmap for project execution. 
  • Project Plans: Create comprehensive plans including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets. 


Execution:

  • Schedules: Develop detailed schedules with clear milestones and deadlines. 
  • Objective: Coordinate tasks and resources to achieve project goals. 
  • Action: Assign tasks to team members and ensure timely completion. 


Monitoring:

  • Resource Management: Ensure optimal utilisation of resources to meet project demands. 
  • Objective: Track and manage project performance. 


Reporting:

  • Performance Tracking: Use appropriate tools and techniques to monitor project progress. 
  • Adjustments: Make necessary adjustments to plans based on performance data and feedback. 
  • Objective: Keep stakeholders informed about project status. 


Closure:

  • Status Reports: Prepare and distribute weekly status reports to the Head of Portfolio Management. 
  • Stakeholder Updates: Provide regular updates to stakeholders on key milestones, risks, and issues. 
  • Objective: Ensure all project deliverables are met and formally close the project 
  • Actions: Conduct final meetings to review project outcomes a nd lessons learned. Ensure all project deliverables meet the defined standards and are accepted by stakeholders. Complete all necessary project documentation and obtain formal sign-off from stakeholders. 


Remuneration: NGN 337,500 Monthly Gross

This SOP ensures that Project Managers can effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor, report, and close projects, maintaining alignment with organisational objectives and delivering quality outcomes on time and within budget.
