Job Summary
The museum manager is responsible for delivering the museum’s vision and executing its mission. This involves engaging all past, existing and potential stakeholders and ensuring the highest level of the social impact of the museum’s operational values. The role is visionary, innovative and strategic as well as administrative.

Job Description/Requirements
- Developing and strengthening strategic relationships with potential and existing stakeholders, including donors, boards, parents, volunteers, schools, regulating agencies, and professional/accrediting associations.
- Developing and steering programs/initiatives to actualize the museum’s vision and objectives, and working with staff and volunteers to implement said initiatives/programs.
- Developing and managing programs/initiatives to guarantee the financial stability of the organizations
- Research and Development: Leading the museum’s research and development initiatives. This includes liaising with tertiary institutions, government agencies, and other stakeholders to investigate questions for the improvement and development of best practices for the museum’s target audience.
Program Development: working with a team of educators to design programs to meet the needs of our learners – children, and those who care for/educate them. Develop and implement innovative, high-quality, and fun, educational programs and events that are child-based, accessible to a wide audience, and reflect the mission of Mindscapes Children’s Museum.
Exhibit sourcing/development: Work with exhibit creators/local fabrication team to create the exhibits/resources needed to meet the needs of our learners.
Education: Provide leadership to staff and volunteers to implement the museum's educational programs for families, schools, and communities. Monitor and evaluate programs, making recommendations for program improvement.
Participating in strategic planning for the museum’s relationship development, brand development, and fiscal sustainability.
Provide leadership to the museum’s staff and volunteers
Oversee the running of the museum’s operations and the museum’s calendar.
Hold staff meetings, workshops, and Museum related activities as required
Requirements:
- Minimum academic qualification of a Bachelor's degree in any related discipline
- Minimum of 4 years of proven work experience
- Excellent interpersonal and people skills
- Proficiency in using collaboration and productivity tools
