Job summary
We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Engineer (Node.js / PostgreSQL / Redis) to build the APIs powering Tomati at scale. You will ship reliable backend services, improve performance, and design clean systems that support real-world production workflows.

Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain REST APIs and backend services
- Design efficient database schemas and queries
- Implement caching, queues, and performance optimisations
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams
- Participate in code reviews and improve engineering standards
Requirements:
- 2–4+ years experience with Node.js (Express/NestJS)
- Strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills
- Strong understanding of Redis and caching patterns
- Solid debugging skills and a strong engineering foundation
- Ability to deliver clean, production-ready code
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently
What Success Looks Like
- APIs are stable, scalable, and well-structured
- Performance improves across key endpoints and services
- Caching and queue patterns are implemented correctly
- Code quality improves through reviews and standards
Start Date: Within 2 weeks
Reporting line: Head of Engineering
