The IT Business Developer is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth for technology products and services. This role bridges business strategy and technology, working closely with product, engineering, and leadership teams to align solutions with market needs. The ideal candidate has strong commercial acumen, technical understanding, and proven experience in business development within the IT or software industry.
Key Responsibilities
5. Business Development & Growth
• Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets.
• Develop and execute go-to-market and sales strategies for IT products and services.
• Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospects, leads, and strategic partners. 6. Client Engagement & Relationship Management
• Engage potential clients to understand their business challenges and technical needs.
• Present product demos, proposals, and value propositions to stakeholders.
• Manage client relationships from initial contact through deal closure and post-sale
engagement.
7. Market Research & Strategy
• Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and trend analysis.
• Identify customer pain points and translate insights into product and service opportunities.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to influence roadmap decisions. 8. Revenue & Commercial Management
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms with clients and partners.
• Track sales performance, revenue targets, and growth metrics.
• Prepare business cases, forecasts, and performance reports for leadership. 9. Collaboration & Internal Alignment
• Work closely with Product Managers to align offerings with customer needs.
• Coordinate with Engineering to ensure the feasibility of proposed solutions.
• Partner with Marketing to support lead generation and brand positioning.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 3–6+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships within the IT or software industry.
• Strong understanding of software products, digital platforms, or IT services.
• Proven ability to identify opportunities and close deals.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Experience preparing proposals, pitches, and commercial documentation.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
