Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Igbo language curriculum that meets the needs of students across various grade levels, ensuring a progressive learning journey.
- Plan and deliver engaging Igbo language lessons to elementary and high school students, utilizing creative teaching methods and materials.
- Foster an appreciation for Igbo culture and traditions through language instruction, stories, and interactive activities.
- Assess and evaluate students' language proficiency regularly, providing constructive feedback to support their language development.
- Encourage students to actively participate in Igbo language activities, discussions, and projects to enhance their language skills.
- Utilize technology and online teaching tools to facilitate interactive and immersive Igbo language learning experiences.
Requirements:
- A graduate in Igbo Language, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
- Fluent in Igbo language with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Igbo grammar, vocabulary, and cultural nuances.
- Effective instructional abilities to teach the Igbo language to young students of different age groups (Ages 4-17 years).
- Passionate about preserving and promoting the Igbo language and culture among younger generations.
- Excellent facilitation skills to motivate and engage students in learning Igbo.
- Ability to create an inclusive and interactive learning environment for all students.
- Demonstrated experience in organizing and prioritizing instructional objectives.
- Commitment to academic excellence and fostering a collaborative learning atmosphere
- Proficiency in using technology for online teaching and creating digital learning resources.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity.
