Job summary
This is a full-time on-site role located in Lagos for a Commercial Executive. The Commercial Executive will oversee daily business operations, manage client accounts, build and maintain strong relationships with partners. The role also involves analyzing market trends, developing strategies to drive growth across channels.

Responsibilities:
Business Development & Lead Generation:
- Generate High-Quality Leads: Move beyond basic cold calling. You will identify key decision-makers and generate qualified, high-ticket leads that are ready to convert.
- Identify the Giants: actively scout and pursue bulk buyers and corporate clients across high-value sectors (Energy, Tech, Finance, Education, FMCGs, Corporate Services, NGO/NFP, Government).
- Market Expansion: Identify gaps in the market that Maruchicart’s multi-category platform can leverage to increase value for the underserved sector or audiences.
Proposals & Tenders:
- Craft winning Bids: You will prepare and present compelling commercial proposals, tenders, and bids that speak directly to the client's procurement needs.
- Tailored Solutions: Collaborate with our marketing, supply chain, and global project teams to ensure the offers are technically sound and commercially irresistible.
Revenue & Strategy:
- Target: This is a performance role. You will own a revenue portfolio of up to $300k with a focus on closing B2B/corporate deals.
- Execute Strategy: Work directly with the Commercial Lead to co-execute aggressive sales strategies that turn prospects into paying partners.
- Guide the Process: Own the sales cycle from the first handshake (or email) to the final invoice signature
Relationships & Brand Representation:
- Be the Face of Maruchicart: Act as the primary voice of the brand for inquiries, networking events, and industry stakeholder engagements.
- Grow Existing Accounts: You will nurture and at least 2X existing accounts by upselling, cross-selling, and scaling their contribution to the top line.
Requirements:
- You have 2–3 years of verifiable experience in corporate sales, trading, or the consumer goodssector. You understand how to spot opportunities and capture value.
- Commercially Astute: You understand margins, supply chains, and the language of B2B commerce.
- Sector Versatile: You are comfortable walking into a Tech Startup one day and an Oil & Gas procurement office or exhibition the next.
- A "Hunter" Mindset: you don't wait for the phone to ring. You forge out and make the market happen.
- Strong skills in client relationship management, networking, and business development
- Experience in sales, marketing, negotiation, and strategic planning
- Knowledge of supply chain processes, procurement, and vendor management
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in technology tools, data analysis, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Procurement, or a related field
- Prior experience in e-commerce, procurement, or related industries is an advantage
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
