Job summary
We are seeking a commercially minded Veterinary Sales Representative (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) to drive technical B2B sales and market penetration for our premium line of veterinary pharmaceuticals, vaccines, biosecurity solutions, and livestock feed additives. This role bridges the gap between scientific expertise and commercial strategy—evaluating livestock health needs on-site, delivering technical advisory to farm owners and integrators, and converting technical trust into consistent sales growth across assigned commercial clusters.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Territory Sales Execution: Prospect, pitch, and sell veterinary pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and farm inputs to commercial farms, veterinary clinics, feed mills, and agro-distributors to achieve monthly revenue targets.
- Technical Detailing & Clinical Consultation: Conduct on-farm clinical evaluations, post-mortems, and diagnostic consultations to recommend precise medication schedules, disease control programs, and biosecurity protocols using company products.
- Key Account Development: Build and maintain long-term commercial partnerships with large-scale poultry, livestock, and aquaculture integrators, managing repeat order cycles and volume commitments.
- Market Seminars & Product Launches: Organize technical workshops, farmer training sessions, and product detailing events to demonstrate return on investment (ROI) and product efficacy to key decision-makers.
- Receivables & Credit Control: Monitor customer credit accounts, manage payment terms strictly, and ensure timely debt recovery in line with financial guidelines.
- Market Intelligence & Disease Surveillance: Monitor regional disease outbreaks, competitor activity, and pricing shifts, providing weekly field reports to guide inventory planning and sales strategy.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. Active registration with the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN) is required.
- 1–3 years of active field sales, technical detailing, or commercial veterinary service experience (fresh DVM graduates with strong commercial drive will be considered).
- Strong clinical diagnostic ability combined with proven negotiation, territory management, and B2B sales skills.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint), and familiarity with local livestock farming networks.
- Must hold a valid driver's license and be prepared for regular intra-state or regional travel across farming clusters.
