Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC | MEP-BIM)
Location: Lagos, Nigeria | Full-Time
Salary: ₦600,000 – ₦1,200,000/month (based on experience)
About the Role
A leading MEP Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead HVAC design, MEP BIM coordination, and the technical delivery of Mechanical Building Services projects — from concept through construction and handover. Strong exposure to Design & Build projects across commercial, industrial, healthcare, hospitality, and mixed-use developments is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead full HVAC design (chilled water, VRF/VRV, AHU/FAHU/FCU, smoke management, ventilation systems), including load calculations and equipment sizing.
- Design plumbing (domestic water, drainage) and fire protection systems (NFPA-compliant sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, clean agent).
- Develop and coordinate BIM models (Revit MEP, LOD 200–400); run clash detection in Navisworks.
- Prepare tender, IFC, shop, and as-built documentation, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and clients; mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Valid COREN registration (mandatory).
- Minimum 10 years' experience with a leading MEP Contractor.
- Strong working knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC/UPC, CIBSE standards.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and HAP.
