Program Officer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement programs that advance Philanthropy Circuit’s mission, including media, research, dialogues, and learning initiatives.
  
• Coordinate end-to-end project delivery, including planning, stakeholder engagement, team collaboration, execution, and impact tracking.
  
• Produce and guide the development of sector reports, learning briefs, and thought leadership content.
  
• Support partnership development with funders, philanthropic networks, non-profits, and regional actors to build collaborative initiatives.
  
• Support donor engagement and stewardship, including proposal development, pitch materials, and reporting on program outcomes.
  
• Monitor sector trends, funding opportunities, and ecosystem shifts to inform strategy and engagement.
  
• Strengthen internal systems for program documentation, M&E, and knowledge sharing.
  
• Collaborate across teams to ensure alignment between programs, communications, and operations.
  
• Represent Philanthropy Circuit at public events, webinars, and forums to amplify our voice and grow our influence.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in non-profit program design, project management, and partnership development.
• Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Communications, International Relations, Public Policy, or related field.
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for different audiences (donors, partners, public).
  
• Proven experience with proposal development, donor liaison, and grant reporting.
  
• Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Deep curiosity about philanthropy’s role in systems change and African-led development.
• Strong understanding of the nonprofit and foundation ecosystem and networks across Africa, and/or globally
  
• Strong practice, understanding, and familiarity with new media, research methods, evaluation frameworks, and knowledge dissemination.
  
• Strategic and adaptive thinker with strong project management capabilities.
  
• High levels of emotional intelligence, collaboration, and team orientation.
  
• Ability to balance vision with execution, creativity with structure, and ambition with humility.
