Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive research on industry trends, demographic data, and economic indicators to inform and support the development of strategic master plans.
- Analyze local, regional, and national policies to ensure that all planning initiatives align with current regulatory frameworks and long-term development goals.
- Design innovative and sustainable master plan concepts that include detailed land use strategies, zoning allocations, and the optimal placement of key infrastructure elements.
- Ensure the plans promote efficient land use, accessibility, and a balanced mix of residential, commercial, and public spaces.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, landscape designers, and other stakeholders to ensure the integration of functional, aesthetic, and sustainable elements within the planning framework.
- Facilitate cross-disciplinary coordination to achieve cohesive and harmonized design outcomes.
- Create visually compelling and technically accurate reports, diagrams, and planning proposals for internal review and client presentations.
- Communicate complex planning ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Evaluate planning proposals against local zoning laws, land-use policies, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure that all designs not only meet compliance requirements but also promote environmental stewardship and community well-being.
- Analyze and propose planning strategies that enhance land utilization, infrastructure performance, and overall development feasibility.
- Employ smart planning techniques to optimize spatial organization and reduce long-term development costs.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or a closely related discipline is required.
- Advanced certifications or continuing education in urban design or sustainable planning are a plus.
- A minimum of two (2) years of practical experience in urban planning, land development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated involvement in large-scale planning projects or urban development initiatives is highly desirable.
- Strong command of industry-standard planning and design tools, including AutoCAD, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and other relevant software for mapping, modeling, and presentation.
- Solid understanding of local zoning ordinances, planning regulations, land-use policies, and environmental protection laws.
- Ability to interpret legal and technical documents and apply them effectively in project planning.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly, collaborate effectively with diverse teams, and manage project timelines and deliverables.
- Proven ability to present ideas persuasively and lead stakeholder engagements.
