Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily earthwork operations, including excavation, backfilling, grading, and compaction
- Read and interpret construction drawings, levels, and specifications
- Assign tasks and oversee equipment operators and laborers
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of heavy equipment and tools
- Monitor site levels, slopes, and alignment to meet design requirements
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations on site
- Coordinate with site engineers, surveyors, and project managers
- Track work progress and report daily activities
- Identify and resolve site challenges related to soil, terrain, or weather
- Ensure materials are used efficiently, and waste is minimized
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an earthwork foreman or similar supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of earthwork methods, soil types, and compaction standards
- Ability to read construction drawings and level plans
- Experience supervising construction crews and machinery operations
- Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in outdoor environments
- Technical or vocational training in construction or civil works (preferred)
- Relevant certifications or trade qualifications are an advantage
