Job Summary
The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEAL) Officer at ERIT will support the design and implementation of a robust MEAL system that enables ERIT to monitor performance, evaluate impact, and continuously learn across its education reform programs and initiatives. This role is critical in embedding data-driven decision-making into program design, policy advocacy, and strategic planning. The MEAL Officer will collect and synthesise data from ERIT’s state-level projects, capacity development efforts, thought leadership activities, and research initiatives.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Management:
- Develop and implement tools and protocols for collecting programmatic, sectoral, and operational data.
- Coordinate data gathering across ERIT programs (e.g., SIP, CoP, TTN, ERIT LMS, etc.).
- Ensure ethical data collection, secure data storage, and data quality assurance.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E):
- Lead the development and implementation of ERIT’s MEAL frameworks, indicators, and tools.
- Track outcomes and outputs aligned with ERIT’s Theory of Change.
- Support program teams to embed M&E into project design and execution.
Data Analysis and Learning:
- Analyse data using appropriate methods to generate actionable insights.
- Produce and disseminate timely performance reports, visualisations, and dashboards.
- Facilitate quarterly learning reviews and support strategy adaptation.
Research and Development Support:
- Work with R&D teams to synthesise findings into white papers, policy briefs, and reports.
- Track trends in education reform and evaluate ERIT’s strategic alignment to sector shifts.
Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting:
- Collaborate with government stakeholders, funders, and partners to share data and insights.
- Prepare documentation for donor reporting and external accountability purposes.
- Support ERIT’s visibility by contributing to evidence-based advocacy and thought leadership.
Capacity Building and Systems Strengthening:
- Train ERIT staff and state-level partners on MEAL practices and tools.
- Strengthen MEAL systems at state project levels and across ERIT networks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Education, Development Studies, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- At least 3 years’ experience in MEAL, preferably in education or public sector reform.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
- Proficient in tools such as Excel, Power BI/Tableau, KoboToolbox, and NVivo/SPSS/Stata.
- Strong writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Location: Lagos
Remuneration: NGN 350,000 - 500,000
Note: This role requires occasional travel to ERIT-supported state project sites.
