Job Summary

We are seeking to hire highly motivated Litigation Lawyers to manage a diverse litigation portfolio, including court representation, document preparation, and client advisory. Must have a Minimum of 2 years post-call experience (Nigerian Bar), proven litigation expertise (civil, commercial, corporate), and strong leadership

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:
Case Management & Strategy:
  • Independently manage a docket of cases or significant portions of complex litigation matters, ensuring all deadlines and court requirements are met.
  • Develop, evaluate, and recommend strategic approaches and case theories in collaboration with partners.
  • Draft and file complex legal documents, including motions for summary judgment, pre-trial motions, and appellate briefs, requiring minimal partner revision.
  • Oversee case files, manage electronic discovery, and ensure the integrity of the document review process.
Discovery & Advocacy:
  • Lead all phases of written discovery, including drafting, responding to, and negotiating complex interrogatories and requests for production.
  • Prepare for and independently conduct and defend depositions of fact witnesses.
  • Represent clients in non-substantive motion hearings and court appearances.
  • Assist in all aspects of trial and arbitration preparation, including drafting witness outlines, preparing exhibits, and drafting jury instructions/findings of fact.

Mentorship & Client Relations:

  • Maintain direct and professional communication with clients, providing timely updates, offering clear legal counsel, and building strong working relationships.
  • Actively participate in negotiation and alternative dispute resolution (mediation/arbitration) to achieve favorable settlements.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of degree
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
