Associate

Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, contracts, legal opinions, briefs, and memoranda.
• File and undertake civil and criminal litigation before national, regional and international courts and tribunals.
• Support commercial transactions and regulatory advisory work.
• Participate in human rights and public interest litigation and advocacy initiatives.
• Engage with clients, courts, regulators, and other stakeholders under supervision.
• Contribute to knowledge management, practice development, and internal firm initiatives.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by Partners or Senior Associates to support the firm’s objectives.

Requirements:

• LL.B and B.L must be called to the Nigerian Bar.
• At least 5 to 7 years post-call litigation experience in a reputable law firm or legal organisation.
• Strong interest and experience in litigation, including public interest litigation.
• Knowledge of Nigerian law and court procedures; exposure to human rights or public interest work is an advantage.
• Excellent legal research, drafting, and communication (including public speaking) skills.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
