A top-tier law firm in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, is urgently recruiting experienced and qualified legal associates.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Case Management and Strategy Development: manage and actively participate in complex cases across various legal fields, including admiralty, arbitration, environmental law, automotive law, credit transactions, and cross-border litigation.
- Document Drafting and Legal Analysis: draft, review, and conduct meticulous review and analysis of comprehensive legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and other relevant documentation, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and legal soundness.
- Court Appearances and Arbitration Hearings: represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration hearings, and other legal forums, handling both procedural and substantive aspects to advocate effectively on behalf of the firm's clients.
- Legal Research and Knowledge Development: conduct comprehensive research on case law, statutory provisions, and legal precedents to support case preparation and decision-making while staying informed of changes in laws and industry trends relevant to the firm’s practice areas and apply this knowledge to advise clients effectively.
- Learning and Development: Participate in continuous learning and training programs to maintain high standards of legal expertise and professional growth.
- Negotiation and Dispute Resolution: engage in strategic negotiations with opposing counsel to reach resolutions that favour the client, applying negotiation techniques and dispute resolution skills to advocate effectively.
- Client Acquisition: lead initiatives to attract new clients and retain existing ones, enhancing the chambers' market presence and reputation.
- Client Satisfaction: regularly assess client satisfaction and implement improvements based on feedback
Requirements:
- Must be a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional litigation experience.
- Strong legal expertise with exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proximity to the office is an advantage.
