Job summary
We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and proactive Company Lawyer to provide legal support and guidance on all corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters affecting the organization.

Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support on corporate, commercial, employment, and operational matters.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts, agreements, memoranda, and other legal documents.
- Ensure the company's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
- Identify legal risks and provide practical recommendations to mitigate potential liabilities.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, mediations, and dispute resolution matters where necessary.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, government bodies, external counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Handle company secretarial and corporate governance responsibilities.
- Review business transactions and provide legal opinions on proposed activities and partnerships.
- Manage litigation matters and coordinate legal strategies with external solicitors when required.
- Maintain and update legal records, licenses, permits, and corporate documentation.
- Advise management on labor laws, employment issues, and workplace compliance matters.
- Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements that may impact business operations.
- Conduct legal research and prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations for management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree from a recognized institution.
- Barrister-at-Law (B.L.) qualification and active membership of the Nigerian Bar Association.
- Proven years of post-call legal experience in corporate, commercial, or business law.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian corporate law, contract law, labor law, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and provide sound legal judgment under pressure.
