Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and manage litigation matters before superior courts of record and tribunals
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, written addresses, and originating processes
- Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
- Provide legal opinions and advisory services on contentious matters
- Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies
- Liaise with clients, courts, and opposing counsel in a professional manner
- Assist senior counsel in complex litigation and high‑value disputes
- Ensure effective case management and compliance with court timelines
Requirements:
- Must be a qualified Legal Practitioner in Nigeria, duly called to the Nigerian Bar
- Minimum of 3 years post‑call experience, with demonstrable litigation exposure
- Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court processes
- Excellent legal drafting, advocacy, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in legal research and use of relevant law reports and electronic resources
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and client‑management skills
