Legal Compliance Officer

Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation and monitoring of the company’s compliance framework in line with AML, CTF, CPF, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Monitor business activities and internal processes to identify potential compliance gaps and ensure adherence to applicable laws and company policies.
• Assist with periodic compliance reviews, audits, and assessments and follow up on identified issues.
• Assist with statutory filings and regulatory submissions to CAC and other relevant regulatory bodies.
• Support regulatory correspondence and liaise with SCUML, EFCC, NFIU, and other regulatory authorities as required.
• Assist in conducting compliance risk assessments and preparing reports on identified risks and recommended mitigation measures.
• Support the company during regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
• Support the Company Secretariat on corporate governance, statutory, and regulatory matters.
• Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and escalate significant developments to management.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in legal or regulatory compliance roles, preferably within the financial services, consulting, or legal advisory sectors.
• Strong experience in dealing with SCUML, including registration, reporting obligations, and regulatory correspondence
• Knowledge of AML, CTF, and CPF regulations and general corporate regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical compliance actions.
