Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Land Property Investigation Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations into land ownership, title verification, boundary disputes, illegal encroachments, and other land-related issues. This role is vital in ensuring lawful land transactions, resolving disputes, and upholding property rights in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Investigate and verify land ownership claims, titles, and historical records.
- Conduct field inspections and site visits to assess and gather relevant data on land parcels.
- Collect and analyze land documentation, including deeds, cadastral maps, lease agreements, and survey plans.
- Identify and document instances of land encroachment, fraud, illegal occupation, or boundary disputes.
- Collaborate with legal teams, surveyors, and relevant government agencies to resolve land disputes.
- Prepare comprehensive investigation reports, findings, and recommendations for internal and legal use.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all investigations and case files.
- Attend court sessions, tribunals, or dispute resolution meetings when required, serving as an expert witness if necessary.
- Provide guidance on land compliance issues and contribute to the development of land management policies.
- Support the digitization and modernization of land records where applicable.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Management, Law, Surveying, Real Estate, Geography, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Minimum of [3-5] years of relevant experience in land investigations, land administration, or a similar role.
- Experience working with government land registries, survey offices, or legal institutions is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of land laws, property rights, registration processes, and dispute resolution.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting land maps, cadastral plans, and legal documents.
- Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to produce detailed reports.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and ethical conduct.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure, with good time management.
- Familiarity with GIS and land record systems is a plus.
- Understand and interact in the indigenous language (Yoruba)
