Job Description/Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engages Executive Management to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections
  • Develops and utilises financial models and activity-based financial analysis to provide a basis for investment decisions and business planning
  • Manages key banking relationships to facilitate proper, timely and cost-effective funding of business operations
  • Develops and maintains a system of appropriate financial policies, procedures and controls to ensure efficient financial management
  • Monitors all third-party payments to ensure that such payments are justified by the value of work successfully completed and are in alignment with the approved budget.
  • Manage the company’s cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts on a regular basis.
  • Handle the acquisition of capital assets and ensure they are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate.
  • Formulate policies for budget and forecast preparation; assist other departments in budget creation; prepare the annual company budget, monitor and report on variances.
  • Oversee the administration of all leases, contracts and other financial obligations.
  • Oversees the preparation and communication of timely, accurate, and useful financial and management reports management on a periodic and /or ad-hoc basis.
  • Develops and implements a robust and reliable financial reporting system in compliance with statutory requirements
  • Works to ensure that adequate controls are in place to facilitate a seamless payment system
  • Puts in place measures or controls to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately captured and reported
  • Liaises with external auditors to discuss and resolve queries as they arise to ensure seamless audit exercise
  • Develops and manages relationships with relevant external bodies/contacts e.g. regulatory organisations auditors, solicitors, banks etc.
  • Manages Bature’s treasury assets to achieve optimal sourcing, application and growth of funds

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience, 2 of which must have been in a Management position of an organisation, interfacing with the Executive team
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related discipline
  • Relevant professional certifications e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or it's equivalent
  • Experience of statutory financial reporting and knowledge of GAAP, IFRS

Desirable:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in a related discipline is an advantage.
