The Chief Technology Officer will lead this transition by driving high-impact digital initiatives, strengthening Seismic’s technology infrastructure, and guiding the development of secure, scalable, and trusted digital products that improve institutional performance, service delivery, transparency, and decision-making across the public and private sectors.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking an exceptional Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in Abuja capable of building a world-class engineering organization that can create transformative products, platforms, and AI-powered solutions across Africa and emerging markets. The CTO will lead the overall technology vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with Seismic Consulting Group’s business objectives and growth plans. In this role, the CTO will oversee software and digital solution development, guide technology architecture decisions, and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of internal and client-facing products and platforms. The CTO will direct technology teams, establish best practices, and ensure that project delivery meets quality, security, and performance standards.
The ideal candidate will combine the strategic thinking of a technology executive, the innovation mindset of a startup founder, and the operational discipline of a world-class engineering leader. The CTO will define and execute Seismic's technology vision, oversee engineering excellence, accelerate product innovation, and establish a culture of high performance, experimentation, and continuous learning.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY AND VISION DEVELOPMENT
The Chief Technology Officer shall;
a. Create vision, strategy, and timelines for the development and deployment of game changer technological products and services.
b. Lead the organization's transition into:
- AI-first solutions
- Cloud-native architecture
- Data-driven decision systems
- Platform-based products
- Enterprise-scale digital ecosystems
c. Lead and drive product innovation from concept to commercialization by establishing product development frameworks that balance:
· User needs
· Technical excellence
· Scalability
· Security
· Revenue generation
d. Continuously stay up to date with emerging technologies, and industry-leading practices, and integrate these insights to Seismic’s context, delivering tangible business value and distinctive advantages.
e. Lead and drive the creation and innovation of proprietary AI and intellectual property solutions in areas including but not limited to:
· Predictive Analytics
· Natural Language Processing
· Intelligent Automation
· Decision Intelligence
· Multi-Agent Systems
f. Clearly communicate Seismic’s technical vision and roadmap to critical stakeholders, partners and clients by regularly presenting goals, wins, and progress updates.
g. Effectively manage all service level agreements and relationships with external stakeholders, leveraging industry best-practices to enhance service delivery.
h. Develop project plans and oversee the timely and budget-conscious delivery of project objectives, which may include enhancing existing systems or developing new applications.
LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
a. The Chief Technology Officer shall lead and mentor the;

b. Serve as the principal technology advisor to the CEO and the chief architect of Seismic's technology ecosystem.
c. Attract, build, and retain a high performing team that meets the current and evolving needs of the Organization through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
d. Champion thought leadership in the integration of cutting-edge technology, by defining the architectural standards for; Cloud Infrastructure, Security, Data Management, APIs, Integration, Scalability
TECHNOLOGY COMMERCIALISATION & GROWTH
a. Translate business needs into technical solutions, establishing a seamless link between technology and our overarching business strategy.
b. Lead procurement, vendor selection, contract negotiation, SLA enforcement, and performance reviews.
c. Partner with executive leadership to identify new revenue opportunities that support

- Strategic partnerships
- Technology due diligence
- Venture-building initiatives
- Product commercialization
d. Establish long-term partnerships with relevant stakeholders in the tech industry, representing Seismic at conferences, engagements, investor meetings and international technology events.
e. Oversee the technology budget with a focus on fiscal prudence, cost optimisation, and accurate forecasting
f. Facilitate the planning and execution of capital projects for novel technology initiatives compliance with; NDPA, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2 and Industry-specific regulations.
g. In general, The Chief Technology Officer shall independently shoulder all responsibilities of all the facets and aspects of IT such as IT governance, application development/management, on-prem and off-prem IT infra setup including cloud, SaaS subscriptions, Cyber security, BCP/DR etc.
In Furtherance of the roles and responsibilities mentioned, the ideal candidate must have:
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, server management, network security, cloud technologies, and modern web, mobile, and application delivery platforms to ensure secure and reliable technology infrastructure.
- Deep expertise in Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, GCP) ,Software Architecture , Distributed Systems Microservices, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, MLOps, DevSecOps , Data Engineering, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Platforms
- Proficient in software development like cycles, business process mapping, process optimization, agile project management, DevOps, coding, debugging, database design, deployment, querying, and data management.
- Extensive knowledge of tax laws, government policies, industry regulations, data privacy laws, external compliance requirements, and technology governance standards.
- Strong understanding of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, blockchain, and their practical application in business and public-sector transformation.
- Skilled in risk management, cybersecurity, data quality management, vendor evaluation, vendor selection, and management of external technology partners.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing engineering and product teams, drive change management, inspire cross-functional collaboration, and implement visionary technology ideas in multi-cultural environments.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, written, oral, and presentation skills, with strong business acumen, action orientation, self-drive, and the ability to simplify complex problems and deliver effective solutions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited tertiary institution in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information System (MIS) or any other related field.
- Must have a relevant industry skill-based certification(s).
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years’ post-Bachelor's relevant work experience in a reputable organisation, five (5) years of which must be in a senior management position.
- Significant professional background in agile software development lifecycle and/or deploying and configuring ERPs or COTs, with expertise in API, Web Services, and integration solutions, proficiency in C#, Java, or similar programming languages and frameworks.
- At least 10 years’ experience in software development.
MBA or equivalent executive qualifications are an advantage.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 15 years of progressive technology leadership experience.
• At least 7 years leading large engineering teams.
• Demonstrated experience building and scaling technology products.
• Track record of delivering enterprise-scale digital transformation programmes.

Experience working across Africa or emerging markets is highly desirable.
