Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Receive regular instructions on the production, assembly, and installation of furniture projects both in the production facility and on-site
- General working of all types of carpentry work in building wooden or part wooden items that form part of buildings (such as wardrobes, panels, framing, kitchens, tables, and all composite
- design product) both internal and external.
- Assisting in general carpentry work and preparation as directed
- Receive training so that you can assist with identifying hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed working practices, health and safety
- Liaising with project architect/supervisor and other staff and performing jobs as and when they are required, in accordance with contract/agreed requirements and within agreed time limits
- Working using your own initiative within agreed roles – do not wait to be asked!
- Report to Line Manager (production manager, supervisor or Architect to carryout project goals)
- Immediately report problems/failures that may impact the organization and/or its clients/customers or which you think may affect health and safety to the Line Manager
- Meet your targets and contribute to those of the team as a whole
- Contribute towards the smooth running of the team
- Adhere to all organization policies and procedures, including those relating to hygiene, respect for other team members, time keeping and flexibility
- Inspire, mentor, and allow junior installers/trainees to shadow you in skills and technical know-how.
- Teach and train subordinates according to the company standards, policies, and expertise.
Secondary Duties:
- Perform such reasonable tasks that are required, as and when necessary, to maintain, promote, develop, and expand the business of our organization and its interests generally.
- Carry out your duties to the best of your ability, having consideration for the needs of your colleagues and the Organisation and its clients/customers.
- Obey all lawful and reasonable orders given to you and comply with the Organisation’s rules, procedures, and policies
Management and Supervisory Duties:
- Responsible for the equipment provided to you for use in your job role. This means you must ensure that equipment is used in accordance with the training provided, all the organization’s policies and procedures, and the law and using, where applicable, any safety equipment or Personal Protective Equipment provided.
- Responsible for ensuring that the equipment you use is maintained and can be always used/operated at all times.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years wood joinery and carpentry experience.
- Be able to read, write, and understand technical drawings
- Have worked in a woodworking or carpentry company located in Nigeria with evidence of employment/reference.
- Have requisite knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to furniture-making
- Flexible and willing to work as part of a team
- Friendly and approachable
- Understand and deliver good customer service
- Good attention to detail
- Demonstrate good time management and project management

Work Conditions:
- You may be expected to work in accordance with the organization’s overtime policies.
- The nature of your role will require you to travel within the area that your team covers. However, from time to time you may be expected to travel outside that area as the job role requires.
Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Mondays - Friday, Saturdays 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM. However, you will be expected to work as and when is necessary to meet the needs of the team and your targets.
