Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Primary School Classroom Teacher to join our team at Durot Private school. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment that promotes academic excellence, good behaviour, and the overall development of pupils.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate and engaging lessons in line with the approved primary school curriculum
- Prepare lesson notes, schemes of work, and teaching aids to support effective learning
- Assess pupils’ progress through tests, classwork, and assignments and maintain accurate academic records
- Identify pupils’ learning needs and provide appropriate support and guidance
- Maintain a well-managed, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
- Promote good behaviour, discipline, and moral values among pupils
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians on pupils’ progress and behaviour
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development activities
- Support extracurricular activities and school programmes when required
Requirements:
- NCE or B.Ed in Education or a relevant subject area
- Minimum of 1–3 years teaching experience in a primary school (an advantage)
- Strong classroom management and lesson delivery skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, creativity, and passion for working with young children
- TRCN certification is an added advantage
- Caring, responsible, and professional
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Commitment to pupils’ academic and personal development
