Job summary
Edward & Clara Memorial Clinic (ECMC) is seeking a professional, compassionate, and organised Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team at Lekki, Lagos.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Provide quality nursing care to patients.
- Take and record patients’ vital signs and conduct basic patient assessments.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist doctors during consultations, procedures, and minor treatments.
- Monitor patients and promptly escalate any concerns to the appropriate clinician.
- Provide health education and basic counselling to patients.
- Maintain proper infection prevention and control standards.
- Ensure clinical areas and nursing equipment are clean, organised, and ready for use.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
- Register patients and accurately capture their information on the clinic’s system.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.
- Attend to patient enquiries in person, by phone, and through approved communication channels.
- Assist with patient billing, payment confirmation, and basic documentation where required.
- Maintain proper filing and organisation of patient records.
- Assist with HMO-related documentation and patient processes.
- Monitor and maintain adequate stock of basic medical and nursing supplies.
- Prepare routine reports and assist with administrative record-keeping.
- Support smooth coordination between patients, nurses, doctors, laboratory, and other departments.
- Follow clinic policies, procedures, and administrative protocols.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) qualification obtained from a recognised School/College of Nursing or College of Nursing Sciences.
- Valid nursing registration and practising licence.
- Applicants with university nursing degrees are not eligible for this position.
- Previous experience in a clinic, hospital, or similar healthcare setting is an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to use electronic medical/record systems.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Professional appearance, good attitude, and excellent patient-care skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, responsible, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
