Saint Bernard School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher/Director to lead and grow a dynamic music program for students in grades 6–12. The ideal candidate will inspire students through performance, collaboration, and a love of music, while supporting the school’s mission and community.
Responsibilities
- Teach music classes to students in grades 6 through 12
- Direct and conduct the following ensembles:
- Concert Choir
- Middle School Choir
- Praise Choir
- Symphonic Band
- Middle School Concert Band
- Plan and produce two major music department concerts annually (Christmas and Spring)
- Coordinate and select music for all school Masses and liturgical celebrations
- Prepare and support students for participation in the annual Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) adjudication and concert festivals
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom and rehearsal environment
Qualifications
- Teaching certification required
- Prior teaching and/or directing experience preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a school community.
