Music Teacher

Saint Bernard School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher/Director to lead and grow a dynamic music program for students in grades 6–12. The ideal candidate will inspire students through performance, collaboration, and a love of music, while supporting the school’s mission and community.
Responsibilities

• Teach music classes to students in grades 6 through 12
• Direct and conduct the following ensembles:
  • Concert Choir
  • Middle School Choir
  • Praise Choir
  • Symphonic Band
  • Middle School Concert Band
• Plan and produce two major music department concerts annually (Christmas and Spring)
• Coordinate and select music for all school Masses and liturgical celebrations
• Prepare and support students for participation in the annual Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) adjudication and concert festivals
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom and rehearsal environment
  

Qualifications

• Teaching certification required
• Prior teaching and/or directing experience preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
