Role Description The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, monitoring, and maintenance of on-site IT systems and networks at the Lagos location. This contract role includes installing and configuring servers, operating systems, and applications; managing user accounts and access controls; and ensuring system security and reliability. The IT Systems Administrator will handle routine and escalated technical support requests, perform troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network issues, and coordinate timely resolutions. The role also involves maintaining documentation, supporting backups and disaster recovery procedures, applying patches and updates, and collaborating with other technical teams to align infrastructure with business and security requirements. The position is fully on-site in Lagos and may require occasional after-hours support for critical incidents or scheduled maintenance.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong System Administration skills, including server configuration, operating system management, user and access management, and system monitoring.
- Candidates should possess Network Administration skills, such as switch and router configuration, LAN/WAN management, network security, and performance optimization.
- Candidates should possess Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
- Candidates should possess core Information Technology knowledge, including IT security best practices, backup and recovery procedures, and familiarity with enterprise IT environments.
- Relevant experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, and basic cloud concepts is beneficial.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, or similar credentials are an advantage.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
