Iron Bender
Job summary
The Iron bender is responsible for cutting, bending, and shaping iron rods and steel materials according to construction specifications and blueprints. The role ensures accuracy, quality, and safety in the preparation of iron components used in building and infrastructure projects.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine bending requirements.
- Cut, bend, and shape iron rods, steel bars, and other metal materials accurately using hand tools or machinery.
- Measure and mark materials to ensure precision in fabrication.
- Inspect ironworks for defects and ensure compliance with project standards.
- Maintain and operate bending machines, cutters, and other tools safely.
- Assist in the installation of fabricated iron components on-site if required.
- Keep the work area clean, organised, and safe at all times.
- Follow safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with site engineers, foremen, and other construction staff to meet project timelines.
- Report any material shortages or equipment issues to supervisors.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 4 years of proven experience.
