Job summary

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our project delivery team. In this role, you will take full financial ownership of large-scale construction and infrastructure projects — from initial feasibility and tender preparation through to final account settlement.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts across all project phases
  • Conduct detailed bills of quantities, measurements, and valuations in accordance with AIQS or NRM standards
  • Lead pre-qualification, tender preparation, and evaluation processes; negotiate and award subcontracts
  • Administer contracts (FIDIC, NEC, JCT, or local equivalents) — manage variations, claims, extensions of time, and final accounts
  • Provide regular cost reports and commercial updates to project leadership and client stakeholders
  • Conduct site measurements and verify contractor valuations and interim payment certificates
  • Identify cost overrun risks early and develop mitigation strategies in coordination with the project team
  • Mentor and guide junior surveyors; review and validate their outputs for quality assurance
  • Liaise directly with clients, consultants, and statutory authorities on commercial and contractual matters
  • Support dispute resolution, adjudication, and any arbitration proceedings as required


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field (Master's degree an advantage)
  • Minimum 7–10 years post-graduation experience in quantity surveying, with at least 4 years in a senior or lead role
  • NIQS corporate membership or RICS chartered status is highly preferred
  • Proven experience managing projects valued at ₦500 million and above
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procurement methods, contract law, and commercial risk management
  • Proficiency in cost management software (CostX, Buildsoft, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong working knowledge of FIDIC, NEC3/NEC4, or JCT contract suites
  • Experience across multiple sectors — commercial, residential, civil, or oil & gas — is an advantage
