Project Engineer
Job summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer for an on-site assignment in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will act as the primary technical liaison between the engineering office and field operations, ensuring that construction, installations, and commissioning activities are completed.

Responsibilities:
- Act as the on-site representative for the project management team, overseeing daily field operations to ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Coordinate between construction crews, subcontractors, and home-office engineering teams to resolve technical site issues promptly.
- Manage the execution of pipeline (or front-line) construction activities, including welding, coating, laying, hydro-testing, and tie-ins.
- Monitor project progress against the schedule, prepare daily/weekly progress reports, and identify potential delays or risks.
- Enforce strict adherence to HSE (health, Safety, and Environment) policies, conducting regular site safety audits and toolbox talks.
- Review and approve Method Statements, Risk Assessment, and ITPs (Inspection Test Plans) prior to construction activities.
- Manage material receipt, preservation, and site inventory to ensure availability for construction continuity.
- Assist in charge management by identifying scope variations and documenting site instructions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience, with a proven track record as a Project Engineer, specifically within the Oil and Gas Industry.
- Must have demonstrable experience in Pipeline projects (onshore/offshore) or frontline (upstream facilities/wellhead) construction.
- Proficient in reading P&IDs, isometric drawings, pipeline alignment sheets, and electrical single-line diagrams.
- Familiarity with ASME, API, and ASTM standards is required.
- Strong leadership, decision-making capabilities under pressure, and excellent communication skills for coordinating with multicultural teams.
- Valid BOSIET/TBOSIET (for offshore roles), HSE Competency certifications (e.g., NEBOSH IGC) are highly preferred.
- Previous experience working with IOC (Internal Oil Companies) or major EPC contractors.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and direct-hire labor forces in remote site locations.
Remuneration: NGN 500,000 - 600,000 Monthly
