Job Summary

To lead and support GivingSphere’s income-generating and partnership efforts by identifying, developing, and executing strategies that secure diverse funding opportunities—including but not limited to grants, donors, and corporate sponsors. The post holder will also support the effective management of secured funding to expand the reach and sustainability of our programs.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy & Implementation:

  • Develop and implement a fundraising strategy aligned with programme and operational needs.
  • Identify and secure funding from diverse sources, including grants, high-net-worth individuals, foundations, corporations, and online giving platforms.
  • Advise and set up infrastructure and systems needed to support long-term income generation.


Grants & Proposal Development:

  • Research and identify potential funding sources, including governmental, corporate, philanthropic, and international donors.
  • Draft, review, and submit high-quality proposals, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the organisation and funder priorities.
  • Submit high-quality grant applications and ensure all requirements are met for successful submissions.
  • Manage a grant calendar, ensuring timely applications and reporting.


Partnership and Relationship Management:

  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with donors, sponsors, and institutional funders.
  • Lead and develop partnership pitches, sponsorship proposals, and engagement plans.
  • Represent the organisation in high-level meetings or networking spaces 
  • Ensure stewardship of partnerships by providing timely updates on program progress and outcomes.
  • Negotiate and manage partnership agreements and ensure that deliverables are met in accordance with the terms.


Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:

  • Monitor the implementation of funded projects, ensuring they meet objectives and deliverables.
  • Prepare progress reports and donor reports, highlighting the impact of funding and showcasing successful outcomes.
  • Track and evaluate partnerships to assess their effectiveness and impact 


Campaigns and Public Fundraising:

  • Lead fundraising campaigns that aim to secure both short-term and long-term financial support.
  • Guide messaging and donor communications in collaboration with the comms team.
  • Develop and implement digital fundraising strategies, e.g Paystack, Give.ng, etc


Capacity Building:

  • Develop tools (e.g., donor CRM, grant tracking, email platforms) to build internal efficiency.
  • Stay up to date on industry best practices, emerging trends in philanthropy, and relevant regulations within the Nigerian context.
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Be flexible and adaptable in contributing to other cross-functional or ad hoc tasks in support of the organisation’s growth.
  • Perform other appropriate tasks or duties as required.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in fundraising, donor engagement, or partnerships in the nonprofit/social impact sector.
  • Strong track record of securing funding from a range of sources (grants, HNWIs, CSR, community campaigns).
  • Excellent grant writing and proposal development skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to work independently and make high-level contributions to a growing organisation.
  • Proven experience in managing grants and partnerships in a non-profit or development context, with a track record of successful fundraising efforts.
  • Strong understanding of the Nigerian donor and funding landscape, including government agencies, international donors, private foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Must have a passion for social impact and be committed to the mission of GivingSphere Charity Foundation.
