Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development and Marketing Officer for a full-time, on-site position located in Lagos State, Nigeria. This role combines strategic marketing with proactive business development to drive growth, visibility, and client engagement across WCM Capital’s service offerings.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the firm's asset management and portfolio management business.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), corporate clients, institutional investors, and financial partners.
  • Manage the end-to-end marketing lifecycle, including campaign planning, content creation, execution, and performance reporting.
  • Promote the firm's investment products and managed portfolios, including Money Market Funds, Fixed Income Funds, Equity Funds, Balanced Funds, Mutual Funds, and Discretionary Portfolio Management services.
  • Prepare and deliver marketing materials such as investment brochures, pitch decks, fund fact sheets, client presentations, email newsletters, and social media content.
  • Coordinate investor outreach initiatives through WhatsApp, SMS, phone calls, webinars, seminars, and email campaigns to drive client acquisition and retention.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients by providing regular portfolio updates, investment information, and exceptional customer service.
  • Analyse market trends, economic developments, and investor behaviour to refine marketing strategies and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Investment, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure all marketing communications comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the launch and promotion of new investment products and collective investment schemes.
  • Monitor marketing performance metrics and prepare periodic reports with recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Represent the firm at investment seminars, conferences, networking events, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility and business growth.



Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in business development, marketing, relationship management, or sales within the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of asset management, portfolio management, mutual funds, collective investment schemes, and other investment products is a strong advantage.
  • Good understanding of the Nigerian capital market and financial instruments, including Treasury Bills, FGN Bonds, Commercial Papers, Equities, Mutual Funds, and Fixed Income products.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital marketing platforms; experience with CRM systems and social media management tools is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to develop compelling marketing campaigns and investor engagement initiatives.
  • Professional certifications such as CIS, SEC-sponsored certifications, or other relevant qualifications will be an added advantage.
