Job summary
A woodwork carpenter in a furniture company who measures, cuts, shapes, and assembles wood and other materials to produce furniture such as tables, chairs, cabinets, and wardrobes. Responsibilities:
- Construct, assemble, and install furniture items such as cabinets, wardrobes, tables, chairs, beds, and other custom furniture pieces.
- Interpret design drawings, measurements, and specifications for furniture production.
- Cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials using hand tools and power tools.
- Sand, polish, and finish furniture surfaces to meet quality standards.
- Repair damaged furniture and perform maintenance work when required.
- Collaborate with factory assistants, designers, and supervisors during production processes.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of carpentry tools and equipment.
- Follow company safety procedures and production guidelines.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a carpenter, preferably in a furniture manufacturing company or workshop.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking tools, machinery, and furniture assembly techniques.
- Ability to read and understand furniture designs and measurements.
