Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Legal Research - Conduct legal research and analysis using online databases, legal publications, and other resources to support attorneys in case preparation, legal opinions, and strategy.
- Document Management - Assist in drafting, editing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Client Communication - Manage client communications, including answering inquiries, scheduling appointments, and maintaining client files while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
- Calendar and Deadline Management - Maintain attorney calendars, scheduling appointments, court dates, and deadlines to ensure timely compliance with legal obligations.
- Case Management - Assist in organizing and maintaining case files, tracking progress, and ensuring all relevant documentation is up-to-date.
- Billing and Invoicing - Prepare and process invoices for clients, track billable hours, and assist in managing financial transactions related to legal matters.
- Administrative Support - Provide general administrative support, such as managing email correspondence, phone calls, and organizing meetings.
- Legal Compliance - Stay updated on legal regulations and procedural changes relevant to our practice areas and assist in ensuring compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or paralegal certification preferred.
- Prior experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or similar role in a law firm or legal department is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
