A Storekeeper in a restaurant is responsible for managing the storage, organization, and distribution of food, beverages, and supplies needed for daily operations. The role ensures that all inventory items are properly received, inspected, recorded, and issued to kitchen and service teams in a timely manner.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming food, beverage, and supply deliveries.
- Ensure all received items match purchase orders regarding quantity, quality, and specifications.
- Properly label, tag, and store items in designated storage areas (dry storage, chiller, freezer).
- Maintain organized and clean storage areas to ensure food safety and efficient workflow.
- Monitor stock levels and issue items to the kitchen and service departments as requested.
- Track daily stock movements and update inventory records accurately.
- Conduct regular stock counts and report variances or shortages.
- Ensure proper rotation of stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
- Notify management of low-stock items or needed reorders.
- Safeguard inventory from theft, damage, and spoilage.
- Dispose of expired or damaged items following safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist in preparing purchase requisitions when necessary.
Secondary
- Coordinate with suppliers for delivery schedules or item replacements.
- Assist in monthly or quarterly inventory audits.
- Work closely with the kitchen and operations team to forecast stock requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of invoices, delivery notes, and requisition forms.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
Requirements:
- Experience in inventory control, storekeeping, or foodservice operations (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of food safety, storage temperatures, and hygiene standards.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to lift, move, and store goods safely.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in counting and documentation.
- Basic computer skills for inventory systems (Excel or POS-based inventory tools).
