Inventory Manager
Job summary
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and controlling all inventory activities within the factory, ensuring accurate stock levels of raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-progress goods, and finished products. This role guarantees proper documentation, efficient stock movement, timely replenishment, and strict compliance with inventory control procedures. The Inventory Manager works closely with the Production, Quality Control, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to maintain supply continuity and prevent stockouts or excess accumulation. The role also ensures the integrity of physical stock, resolves discrepancies, optimises storage systems, and supports operational planning through accurate data reporting. The Inventory Manager plays a critical role in maintaining smooth factory operations through efficient inventory governance aligned with Bioharb Global Limited’s manufacturing standards.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Inventory Planning & Stock Level Management: Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels for all raw materials, packaging items, and finished products. Ensure timely replenishment to prevent stockouts and production delays. Track consumption patterns and forecast inventory needs with Production and Procurement.
- Inventory Receiving & Verification: Verify all incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery notes for accuracy. Ensure Quality Control inspects and approves received items before stocking. Document and report discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the appropriate departments.
- Stock Storage & Organisation: Organise warehouse and storage areas for efficient material retrieval and safety. Ensure proper labelling, batch identification, and expiration tracking. Implement First-In-First-Out (FIFO) and First-Expired-First-Out (FEFO) depending on product type.
- Stock Issuance & Movement Control: Issue materials to production based on authorised requisitions. Monitor and track materials consumed per batch or production cycle. Report abnormal usage, wastage, or deviations in material consumption.
- Inventory Documentation & Record Management: Maintain accurate stock records using manual and digital systems. Update stock cards, inventory logs, bin cards, and ERP/software systems as applicable. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management decision-making.
- Physical Stock Counts & Reconciliation: Conduct routine cycle counts and full monthly or quarterly stock audits. Reconcile physical stock with system records and investigate differences. Implement corrective measures to eliminate recurring discrepancies.
- Inventory Compliance & Process Control: Ensure compliance with internal inventory control policies and industry best practices. Support Quality Control in ensuring only approved materials are stored or issued. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-regulated warehouse/storage environment.
- Coordination & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work directly with Production to align material availability with production schedules. Liaise with Procurement on reorder levels and supplier delivery performance. Collaborate with QC on material approval, rejection, and quarantine processes.
- Waste Management & Loss Prevention: Monitor stock expiry, spoilage, damage, and leakages. Implement preventive measures to reduce losses and enhance material handling. Report any stock irregularities, theft risks, or tampering activities immediately.
- Reporting & Documentation Control: Generate accurate inventory reports for management review (usage, balances, variance). Provide data needed for budgeting, planning, and procurement forecasting. Maintain audit-ready documentation at all times
- 2-3 years of experience in a related field.
- Minimum of HND in a related field.
- Must be good with figures.
- Must live around the Dopemu, Orile and Ikeja axis in Lagos.
Remuneration: NGN 150,000 - 200,000 Monthly
