Procurement Specialist
Job summary
Our company, an Oil and servicing firm is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to manage end-to-end procurement activities. The role is commercially critical and requires a professional who can interface confidently with clients, OEMs, distributors, and international suppliers. The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring we deliver competitive quotations, reliable sourcing, and on-time execution in a high-pressure project environment.

Responsibilities:
- Source equipment, materials, spares, and services from OEMs and approved suppliers globally.
- Identify alternative suppliers to manage lead time, availability, and cost risks.
- Maintain and continuously update our supplier database, including OEMs, distributors, manufacturers, and service providers.
- Support commercial negotiations on pricing, lead times, payment terms, warranties, and delivery conditions.
- Prepare and issue RFQs to qualified suppliers based on client and project requirements.
- Manage technical and commercial clarifications between suppliers and internal teams.
- Analyse supplier quotations for compliance, pricing, delivery, and commercial risks.
- Prepare accurate, competitive, and well-structured client quotations
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) in line with approved quotations and internal approvals.
- Maintain proper procurement documentation and records for audit and management review.
- Act as the procurement interface between the company and its clients for assigned projects and enquiries.
- Translate client requirements, specifications, and RFQs into clear procurement actions.
- Liaise closely with engineering, projects, finance, logistics, and management to align scope, pricing, lead times, and commercial terms.
- Actively expedite suppliers to ensure compliance with agreed manufacturing and delivery schedules.
- Monitor production progress, documentation submission, and shipment readiness.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project and client schedules.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in engineering preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, Excel (Prerequisite), Word and PowerPoint) required.
- Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Analytical and numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving abilities
- Commercial and financial awareness.
- Results-oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Resilient, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
- Exhibit a very strong understanding and appreciation for working in a team environment.
- Ability to format reports, produce and manipulate data accurately.
- Ability to interface with individuals at all levels in an organisation
