Store Officer
Job summary
The Store Officer is responsible for managing the storage, inventory, and distribution of materials used in the furniture production process. The role ensures proper handling of raw materials such as wood, hardware, and finishing supplies while maintaining accurate inventory records.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming raw materials and supplies
- Store materials such as timber, plywood, fittings, and tools properly
- Maintain accurate stock records and inventory reports
- Issue materials to production staff based on approved requests
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the procurement department
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies
- Ensure proper labeling and organization of items in the store
- Maintain cleanliness and safety within the store area
- Prevent loss, damage, or theft of stored materials
- Coordinate with production and procurement teams for efficient stock management
Requirements:
- OND/HND in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- up to 3 years of experience in storekeeping or inventory management
- Knowledge of inventory control and stock management procedures
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel or inventory software)
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Attention to detail and accountability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
