Special Projects Lead
Job summary
The Special Projects Lead will head MEPI’s Special Projects Team on a time-bound 6–12 month contract. The primary objective of this role is to leverage MEPI’s existing operational, financial, and market infrastructure to identify, launch, and monetize new business opportunities in aligned and adjacent sectors such as Real Estate, Hospitality, Consumables amongst others.

Responsibilities:
- Identify high-potential business opportunities that align with MEPI’s core strengths and structure.
- Conduct market research, feasibility studies, and competitive analysis to validate the viability of new initiatives.
- Develop comprehensive business cases, financial models, and go-to-market strategies for proposed ventures.
- Lead the full lifecycle of special projects, managing them from initial ideation through to launch and scaling.
- Define project scope, KPIs, and milestones while ensuring delivery stays within budget and timelines.
- Drive monetisation strategies and oversee P&L performance to ensure projects are profitable and financially sustainable.
- Improve efficiency by optimising pricing models, cost structures, and operational processes.
- Build and motivate project teams while collaborating with internal stakeholders (Finance, Ops, Legal, Marketing).
- Provide senior management with regular progress reports, insights, and strategic recommendations.
- Flag risks early with mitigation strategies and ensure full compliance with internal policies and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a relevant technical field.
- A proven track record in Business Development, Strategy, Project Management, or Venture Building, specifically with experience leading initiatives from concept to execution.
- Practical experience is required in at least one of these industries: Real Estate Management, Hospitality, Financial/Capital Markets, Consumer Goods or Technology/Platform-based businesses.
- Strong understanding of P&L management, ROI analysis, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
- A versatile, entrepreneurial mindset capable of building business lines with limited resources, moving between diverse industries, and executing quickly (test, learn, pivot).
- Ability to assemble, develop, and lead high-performing teams to deliver results.
- Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Remuneration: NGN 400,000 - 600,000 Monthly
