Senior Finance & Accounting Manager
Job summary
We are seeking a senior, hands-on Finance and Accounting professional to manage and oversee finance operations for a regulated financial services company. The role combines direct ownership of accounting for some products with review and supervisory oversight for others. This is a practical, execution-focused role suited to someone comfortable working closely with product and operations teams, particularly within capital markets–driven businesses. The role also includes meaningful responsibility for tax compliance and regulatory support.

Responsibilities:
Capital Markets Accounting & Operations:
- Own and oversee accounting for capital markets activities, including brokerage, trading, securities, and FX transactions
- Ensure accurate recording of trades, settlements, corporate actions, and related balances
- Review transaction postings, reconciliations, and month-end close outputs
- Partner with operations and product teams to ensure financial accuracy of market activities
Finance Oversight & Execution:
- Be hands-on with accounting and reporting for selected areas
- Provide review and supervisory oversight for others
- Ensure consistent accounting policies and standards across the company
- Support timely and accurate financial closes
Financial Reporting & Insight:
- Prepare and review management accounts and financial reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Provide performance insights and analysis
- Monitor FX balances and exposures where applicable
Tax, Regulatory & Compliance Support:
- Support preparation and filing of taxes (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, etc.)
- Coordinate with tax consultants, auditors, and regulators
- Support regulatory and capital markets reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable SEC guidelines
Controls & Process Improvement:
- Maintain strong financial controls
- Support audits and regulatory reviews
- Improve finance processes, documentation, and systems as the business scales
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in accounting or finance within capital markets, brokerage, asset management, banking, fintech, or related fields
- Strong hands-on accounting experience is required
- Capital markets experience is a major advantage
- Experience working in regulated financial services environments is preferred
- Professional qualifications are a plus: ICAN (ACA), ACCA, CPA, CFA (or progress toward any of these)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline
- Strong understanding of capital markets operations and accounting
- Comfortable balancing hands-on execution with supervisory review
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Practical, execution-oriented mindset
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
