Quality Control Manager

Responsibilities:

• Accountable for the overall food safety and security and regulatory affairs
• Responsible for developing and instituting methodologies to index customer complaints
• Authorized to specify acceptance limits of all quality parameters for all products
• Responsible for ensuring that every complaint is thoroughly investigated and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) process is initiated and closed
• Responsible for developing procedures for internal audits in line with ISO 9000 Quality Management System
• Responsible for interpretation of test results, checking favorability and planning corrective actions for deviations
• Responsible for preparation, review and updating of all the Standard Operating Procedures related to business.
• Responsible for ensuring that periodic audits of the food safety systems are conducted.
• Verify proper functioning of the regulatory compliance team.
• Interact with QC to reform test plans and procedures whenever necessary.
• Authorized to halt production when there is a food safety concern.
• Lead efforts to amend observations in audits by implementing solutions
• Knowledgeable on stabilization of lab equipment for Physical, chemical, microbiological tests
• Detailed knowledge on NAFDAC/FSSC2200/BRC/SON requirements
• Responsible for the investigation of food safety customer complaints
• Responsible for ensuring that GMPs are followed.
• Responsible for monitoring the functioning of HACCP team
• Responsible to ensure food safety related programs are budgeted for by participating in the budgeting process
• Responsible for proper representation during customer audits
• Work with cross functional teams to approve the production of new products.
• Planning and execution of food safety training programs in association with the HR Manager.
• Responsible for monitoring the efficacy of IPM program.
• Responsible for validation of the CCPs
• Responsible for organizing awareness programs and campaigns relevant to food safety.
• Responsible for supplier audits and approval of new vendors.
• Responsible for review of HACCP reports and CAPA closure.
• Responsible for the conduction of monthly operational review.
• Responsible for actively participating in quarterly management review meetings.

Requirements:

• Minimum academic qualification of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, food science and technology, nutrition and dietetics, etc.
• Master/degree/Certificate in Business administration/project management or related field will be an added advantage
• Minimum 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in quality control management with verifiable incremental supervisory roles and responsibility
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Member of relevant professional bodies
• Aware of and fully conversant with Sanitation, fumigation, CIP, as well as proper use of PPE’s.

Remuneration: NGN 220,000- 300,000
