Quality Assurance officer
Job summary
The Quality Assurance Officer will ensure that design deliverables, construction works, and materials across active projects meet the studio's design intent, technical specifications, and applicable building and quality standards.

Responsibilities:
- Review design drawings, specifications, and project documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with the studio's design and quality standards prior to issuance.
- Cross-check construction drawings against approved design intent to identify discrepancies before they reach site.
- Maintain a quality checklist/framework for design deliverables at each project milestone.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify that construction works, materials, and workmanship comply with approved drawings, specifications, and building codes.
- Prepare and maintain snag lists, tracking identified defects through to close-out with contractors and site teams.
- Verify that materials delivered to site match approved specifications before use in construction.
- Flag quality, design, or workmanship risks early and escalate significant issues to the COO/Project Manager.
- Support the development and enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for design review, site inspection, and quality control.
- Ensure project sites comply with applicable Nigerian building codes, regulatory requirements, and the company's HSE standards, in coordination with the HSE function.
- Prepare regular quality assurance reports for the COO, covering inspection findings, outstanding defects, and compliance status across active projects.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, quality audits, and corrective actions for each project.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 – 4 years' experience in quality assurance/control, site supervision, or architectural/engineering practice within construction, architecture, or the built environment sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Technology, or a related built environment field.
- Postgraduate qualification in Construction Management, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Sound understanding of quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) principles and documentation practices.
- Familiarity with design and project management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, or equivalent) sufficient to cross-check deliverables.
